What this tool does
This interactive tool matches you with volunteer roles that suit your particular skills, interests and availability. It considers what you can offer, how much time you have, and what causes matter to you, then suggests specific opportunities in your area.
The reason this helps is that there are thousands of volunteer roles across the UK, but finding the right match can feel overwhelming. The tool cuts through the noise to show you opportunities where you can genuinely make a difference.
When to use it
Use the tool if you want to start volunteering but are not sure where your skills would be most useful, or if you have tried volunteering before but struggled to find roles that fitted your schedule or interests. It is also helpful if you are looking for a change from your current volunteering commitments.
The tool works whether you are completely new to volunteering or have years of experience. It suits people who can spare just an hour a week as well as those who have more time to offer.
How it works
You answer five straightforward questions about your skills, how many hours you can commit each week, which community areas interest you most, whether you prefer one-off events or ongoing roles, and optionally your postcode area. The tool then suggests three to five specific volunteer opportunities that match your profile.
Each suggestion includes the type of role, what organisation might offer it, why it suits you, what the work typically involves, and how much time it requires. Nothing you enter is saved, and you do not need to create an account to use the tool.
